Hello out there blogger world! My name is Jon and I am a first quarter whatcom student. I moved here from yakima washington with my three best freinds and I am excited to start something new here. Ive been a skateboarder a majority of my life and love to cook, play ping pong, and basketball. Im majoring in buisness pursing my dreams of starting a record label and opening a music club. Music is my life, so there is nothing I would rather do then have a career in it. I mostly listen to underground Hip Hop and Blues, old folk and psychedelic rock, im not to picky though I like most genres. I read alot, mostly autobiographys, Hunter S. thompson, and the Bible. In my free time I like to go hiking in the woods, write songs, or jam on my harmonica. This is my first blogging experience, I have to admit im kind of hesitant to the whole facebook and social networking thing, but i guess I can give it a shot.
I have not been in school for a few years so it has been quite a while since I have written anything formal, but I love writing and im looking forward to mastering the skill. I would consider myself to be a modern day beat poet. I mostly write songs, i guess you could say hip hop but i dont want to put myself into a box, although lately I have been freestyling and remembering things more then writing them down. Most my stuff is just stored up in the old noggin. Even in this small amount of time in class I find myself writing more, im glad for that. I really need to work on structure and staying consistant with my opinion I tend to get scatterbrained about writing. I also need to work on revision skills, and run on sentences. Im sure you will find many in this blog. I look forward to this quarter and gaining many more skills to improve my writing, alright thats it. Bye
