Hello everyone, my name is Bryan Gutierrez and this is my first quarter at Whatcom Community College. I was born into a Hispanic family of Salvadorian decent in Washington D.C. and I came to the west coast in '98. I had moved back and forth from Bellingham and Ferndale, then finally deciding to stay in Ferndale for good. My many hobbies include listening to music of all genres, watching movies with friends, hanging out with friends, playing video games on the Xbox 360, using computers, watching UFC and playing a bit of basketball. If you get to know me, you will easily figure out that I'm not a big fan of reading and writing. To be honest, I'm more of a math guy, but that's just me. I plan to major in Computer Information Systems because ever since the beginning of high school, I've been very fascinated with computers. I have always wondered how everything works inside but more importantly, I just want to learn way more than I already know about them.
As I've stated before, I'm not the biggest writer, I don't write a whole lot. I just basically write for school assignments and projects, nothing more. Other than school I only write a bit on Facebook. That's a great place to keep track of what my friends are doing, so I usually talk to them on there. Anytime that I want to talk to a friend, I just hit up Facebook and see if they are online in chat, then I start talking to them. The main reasons of going on Facebook is to see if friends are available to hang out or to check what they are going to be doing on the weekend and whatnot. Maybe there is a cool upcoming event and you want to figure out who is going; that is why I choose to write on Facebook. Sometimes it gets in the way of doing homework but sometimes it's a great way to get help on homework so overall it's a win-win situation. I believe Facebook is a great invention and I couldn't think of a world without it.
